Wednesday 8th.  A light to moderate SSE'ly  veered into the W in the late afternoon under milky skies with lift hard to find.  The day's 18 ATs off runway 20 only led to 2 flights of over 30 minutes and none over an hour, with a high tow or engine assistance being the reason for the extended flying.  Neil Paveley's 33 minutes in his Nimbus 2, started with a tow to 3,000' QFE followed by some reduced sink near Dalton and a weak thermal on the way back to site, while Steve Scothern's 31 minutes in his Discus t included an engine assisted climb to 4,000' asl post release.  John Forrester's 2 solo flights, first in K21 KLW and then in K21 JVZ, both lasted 23 minutes from a 3,000' QFE tow, with Eileen Scothern using the engine of her Discus t to climb post launch to 2,900' QFE and also register the same duration as John.  the day's flying also included Clive Swain's 30  minutes in the Falke.
