Wednesday 5th. The wind had gone into the WSW and increased to moderate to fresh to fresh, bringing in some isolated showers which became more frequent in the afternoon. However, it was the wind speed that was problematic, with the result that a initial exploratory winch launch by Andreas Rieder/John Carter in K21 JVZ leading to an 8 minute flight soaring the home bowl was only followed by one other winch launch off runway 24. That was by Fred Brown in his Ventus 2ct who soared the home bowl for 50 minutes at 600' to 1,700' QFE before landing back.
