Wednesday 29th.  The WSW'ly continued to blow, albeit as light to moderate, as a weakening cold front made slow progress SE'wards,  bringing generally cloudy skies to site.  Any lift was limited to weak thermals and hill lift, with the result that only 3 flights from the 21 ATs flown off runway 24 exceeded 30 minutes, ,with one of these being Martyn Johnson's 2:34 in his DG600 as he vainly explored the local area, including the Forward Ridge and Black Hambleton for wave, never getting above 3,800' asl.  The other 2 > 30 minute flights were the 59 minutes by Andy Tyas in Astir DSU  and the 47 minutes by Eileen Scothern in her Discus t, both flown locally in thermal,  although Eileen's did include an engine burn not long after take off.  The day's flying included 4 flights for First Flight pupils and  concluded with Maxwell Miller having 3 solo circuits in the Falke which were preceded by 2 flights with CFI James Shaw, so congratulations Maxwell.
