Wednesday 26th. As the ridge of high pressure moved away, the sunny morning became a cloudy afternoon with rain arriving in the early evening. Flying amounted to 17 ATs off runway 20 into a moderate SE'ly, this including 2 First Flight pupils and a single private owner launch, with 3 of the club 2 seaters and Astir DSU flown. In the absence of any significant lift, flight times were generally in the 6=30 minute range, mainly dependent on release heights, but some pilots used reduced sink over the White Horse ridge to extend their flights, with Neil Paveley in the Astir having 26 minutes off a 2,500' launch and John Carter having 30 minutes off a 2,600' launch while flying K21 JVZ solo. The longest 2 seater flight was by Nigel Burke and one of the day's First Flight pupils with 25 minutes off a 3,100 tow.
