Tuesday 27th to Thursday 29th. The blocking high remained in place over Scandinavia with a series of Atlantic depressions approaching from the SW and then stalling and slowly filling, the result being a continuation of a cloudy and often rainy flow from the SE quadrant, particularly for the eastern side of the UK. Tuesday's depression, Storm Chandra, brought a day of heavy rain and fresh to strong ESE'ly winds and while Wednesday and Thursday were essentially dry as the storm dissipated, low base overcasts, with Wednesday also foggy in the Vale of York, meant all three days were non-flying.
