Tuesday 11th.  A hot and sunny day, with the temperature reaching 27.0C locally and a moderate SSE'ly blowing, saw 21 ATs, a self launch and a Falke flight off runway 20.  Andrew and Elizabeth Bedford besttook the Falke on a morning flight of 127 OLC km, visiting Tontine before travelling to the  west of Reeth and returning via Easingwold, while Derek Smith took his DG808 on a 205 OLC km, 3:01 trip with TPs at 8 km NE of Market Weighton, Malton and Burn, climbing to 4,600' asl  with a best average peak climb rate of 3.6 kts.   Derek was the only private owner to launch, but shared his  > an hour flight with 4 others who all stayed local, where peak altitudes were around 5,000' asl, with slightly lower average peak climb rates.  Astir pilots Austin Harland in  DSU had 1:23, and Neil Amos 1:40 in Astir DPO, while the longest of 2 seater flights saw Chris Collingham/Naomi Kennard have 1:27 in K21 JVZ and Andreas Rieder/Rob Cruickshank have 1:34 in K21 KLW.  The only other flight over 30 minutes was the 44 minute one by Guy Hartland/William Blanthorn in KLW, while the day's 5 First Flight pupils had a flight time average of 26 minutes.
