Thursday 2nd to Saturday 4th January 2025

Thursday 2nd. Another sunny, blue sky day but with the airfield still wet, flying was limited to a single Flake flight, Bruce Grain/Harris Hobson 38 minute flight being local and including a couple of touch and go landings.
Friday 3rd. A light WNW'ly blew all day under blue skies and, with the airfield operational with care, 16 ATs were flown off runway 24 with landings on runway 02. The light winds meant that the W'ly ridge provided some weak lift that was insufficient to sustain altitude but did slow sink rates, with the result that 2 flights had over 25 minutes and 2 more were over 20 minutes. Clive Swain/Harris Hobson in K21 KLW had 29 minutes, helped by a 3,000' tow, while Bruce Grain/Mark James had 28 minutes in K21 JVZ off a 2,500' tow. Bruce and Mark later had a 22 minute flight in JVZ off a 2,000' tow with Bruce later posting the same time with Sarah Nolan in JVZ, again off a 2,000' tow. Yuri Kozherov, John Forrester and Amelia Forrester all flew Astir DPO, with Amelia's 20 minutes off a 2,000' tow being the most productive economically.
Saturday 4th. A moderate WNW'ly declined to light as it backed into the WSW, the high cover providing hazy sunshine on a cold day, the conditions not encouraging anyone to fly.,
