Saturday 21st. Under generally cloudy skies, a variable SW'ly in strength and direction brought of day of hill and wave soaring, with 10 of the day's flights, 10 via the winch and 8 via AT, exceeding 30 minutes, with 3 of these over an hour. The early winch launches led to hill soaring flights, with Kelly Teagle/Charlie Brooker in JVZ operating between 900'-1,400' QFE during their 36 minute flight and Chris Barrott in Astir DPO between 600'-1,000' QFE during his 33 minutes. However, John Carter/Chris Teagle in the DG1000 contacted wave just to the W of site after a spell of hill soaring and climbed to 7,200' asl in the Knayton/ Felixkirk area before landing after 49 minutes. AT'ing became the launch method shortly after, and subsequently most pilots contacted the wave and climbed in the same area as John and Chris with some extending their exploration of the NNW/SSE orientation of the wave from Cowesby to Husthwaite. Those climbing to 5,000' asl or more included Kelly Teagle/Ben Dawson in K21 JVZ, 5,000', Chris Barrott in Astir DPO, 5.700', Bob Calvert in the Discus, 6,100', Charlie Brooker in Astir FSH, 6,200' John Carter/Mark James in the DG1000, 6,800' and Jamie Quartermaine/Ben Dawson in JVZ, 7,100'. After the end of flying, the club's AGM was held.
