Monday 15th to Tuesday 16th January 2024

Monday 15th. A moderate and gusty NW'ly under the clear skies of an Arctic airmass, brought an ice day to site (max temperature below 0 degrees C). Although the wind slowly moderated over the course of the day, the wind conditions never became amenable to flying.
Tuesday 16th. The wind had become a light to moderate SSE'ly that slowly veered into the SW over the course of the day, as a disturbance crossed the northern part of the UK. Bruce Grain took a flight in the Falke before Tony Drury flew K21 JVZ solo, taking a 2,000' AT off runway 24 and landing back after 15 minutes on runway 20. That completed the day's flying around 1130 hrs before the disturbance made its presence felt by bringing some light snow.
