Friday 30th.   Another Atlantic depression over the SW of the UK brought low cloud and 9.2 mm rain between 0900 and 1600 hrs within an moderate E/ESE'ly so there was no flying.

Saturday 31th.  The wind remained moderate from the SE but, after a morning of low cloud, this broke up to give an afternoon of clearing skies, allowing flying to commence mid-afternoon.  7 ATs off runway 20 were shared between K21 JVZ, (4), Astir DPO (2) and Astir FSH (1) with flight times generally a function of launch height.  Sarah Stubbs' 24 minutes solo in JVZ was off a 3,000' tow, while Austin Harland in DPO had 18 minutes off a 2,000' tow and Clive Swain/Ryan Parker had 16 minutes in JVZ off a 2,500' tow.

This blog describes a snippet of life at the Yorkshire Gliding Club. Why not take a flight and try it yourself, or we can teach you to fly as a full club member.
