Friday 21st.  A sunny day with the airfield covered in powdery snow meant flying was via the winch with 19 launches.  The wind was a light to moderate NW'ly so take offs were from runway 02, but the wind than backed into the SSW, so, after 11 launches, the winch was repositioned to allow take offs from runway 20.  The 11 launches from runway 02 gave release heights of around 1,000 -1,100' QFE with resultant flight times of 4-6 minutes, but with the change in wind direction, flight times improved to 6-9 minutes from similar release heights due to areas of reduced sink over the White Horse and Home bowl ridges.  John Carter/Duncan Pask and Chris Collingham/Stephen Kellerher, both in K21 JVZ, had 9 minutes each and Charles Frenchville in Astir DSU had 8 minutes.  Andreas Rieder provided the following photo of K21 JVZ after landing on  snow covered runway 02.
