Friday 21st. A sunny start to the day soon disappeared as extensive stratocumuluis formed, only clearing late afternoon. The result was a launch total of 3, an initial 7 minute flight by James Shaw in the Falke which determined that cloud base was only just over 1,000' QFE, followed by 2 widely spaced flight by James and Steve Morgan in K21 JVZ. Both flights contacted weak thermals off low tows, the thermal during the first flight of 6 minutes not resulting in a climb, but slowing down the descent rate, while the second flight, of 12 minutes, included a 300' climb.
