Monday 4th. For various reasons I have not had access to daily log sheets this week so the following reports will be less comprehensive than usual.
A light SSE'ly blew so operations were off runway 20. The visitors who flew in on Saturday set off on the next stage of their round Britain journey with a 200km flight to Darlton, including a mid journey YoYo between Thorne and Rufforth S. YGC pilots also flew 3 XCs, Kelly Teagle in her LS8-18t and Steve Thompson in his Ventus 2bt both completing a 133 km task with TPs at Wetherby and Market Weighton and Rob Bailey in his AS29t flying 146 OLC km to or near Tontine, York, Wetherby and Boroughbridge. 17 of the day's 39 ATs exceeded 30 minutes with 7 having over an hour, including the visitors who flew to Darlston.
Tuesday 5th. A cool, light to moderate N'ly and mainly cloudy skies meant a day of circuits, with 21 flown in the club K21's, JVZ and KLW and visiting Twin Astir and single seat Junior. Flight times ranged from 6 to 19 minutes dependent in release height.
This blog describes a snippet of life at the Yorkshire Gliding Club. Why not take a flight and try it yourself, or we can teach you to fly as a full club member.
