Friday 9th to Saturday 10th January 2026

Friday 9th. Storm Goretti's track across southern Britain meant the site avoided the storm force winds, heavy rain and snow that affected the southern half of the UK. A light to moderate NNW'ly blew under sunny skies but the forecast had resulted in the day being previously scrubbed so there was no flying.
Saturday 10th. A sunny, cold day with light winds saw 16 ATs off runway 20 with 20, 02 and 06 being used for landing. Flight duration was a function of release height with Tim Stanley taking the only First Flight pupil of the day for 22 minutes off a 3,000' tow in K21 JVZ and John Carter/Jamie Quartermaine having 20 minutes from a similar tow in the DG1000. Ryan Parker, after a check flight in K21 JVZ with Andreas Rieder, re-soloed in JVZ later in the day, so congratulations to him.
