Tuesday 12th. A light to moderate SSE'ly blew all day with generally overcast skies until later in the day, limiting flying to circuits or extended circuits from each of the 22 ATs off runway 20 depending on release height. The day's flying included 5 for First Flight pupils, with James Prosser in K21 JVZ taking one of them for the longest flight of the day, 28 minutes, the result of finding a weak thermal that allowed them to maintain around 2,900' asl and then 2,300' asl for a while. The Falke had 3 flights, one of which was an O/R to Fishburn flown by Paul Whitehead/James Prosser and another, flown by Martin & Clare Newbery, following the main W'ly and NW'ly edges of the North Yorks Moors national park all the way to Ingleby Bowl and back.
This blog describes a snippet of life at the Yorkshire Gliding Club. Why not take a flight and try it yourself, or we can teach you to fly as a full club member.
