Wednesday 21st.  Another sunny and blue sky day with a cool, moderate N'ly blowing meant a day of winch launching off runway 02.  The launch total of 22 mainly resulted in flight times of < 5 minutes but,  as is often the cast at Sutton, there were some opportunities for soaring.  Principal among these was Charles Frenchville's 2nd flight in Astir DPO following a first flight of 8 minutes duration.  On  his second flight, Charles launched into a thermal and using a few more climbed to around 3,000' asl where he spent the rest of his 2:21 flight soaring mainly between 3,000-3,800' asl in some weak wave positioned over the S'ly, White Horse ridge, climbing to a peak altitude of 4,000' asl.   The only other flight to exceed 30 minutes was that by Bruce Grain/John Carter in K21 KLW who also contacted a thermal straight of launch and, using a few more, climbed to 3,100' asl and found a touch of wave before landing back after 37 minutes.  ,
