Thursday 4th. Wednesday's heavy rain led to a soggy airfield and this plus a low overcast for most of the day ruled out any glider flying except for the Falke which had 3 flights, two with Bruce Grain/John Forrester and one with Paul Whitehead/Guy Hartland. With a light NNW/N'ly blowing Bruce/John's first flight took off from runway 24 and visited Pocklington, York and Boroughbridge before doing a touch and go at Bagby before landing back at Sutton. Their second started with a take off from runway 02 followed by an overfly of Stamford Bridge and a touch and go at Burn before returning to Sutton, while Paul/Guy also took off from runway 02, flew down to Sherburn and then to Driffield before returning home.
