Tuesday 9th to Wednesday 10th January 2024

Tuesday 9th.  The light to moderate ENE'ly flow continued to bring in overcast skies, cloud base being  high enough to allow ATs up to 2,500' QFE.    The day's 10 ATs off runway 02 were flown in either K21 JVZ or Astir DPO and flight times were generally in the range12-14 minutes with a couple of exceptions.  Clive Swain/Neil Amos in JVZ extended their flight to 26 minutes by making a thermal climb from 1200' QFE to 1,600' QFE and John Forrester in DPO also managed a thermal climb from 1.200' QFE to 1,400' QFE in his flight of 24 minutes.  The day's flying activities were completed be a single Falke sortie.

Wednesday 10th.  A shift in the position of the anticyclone meant a light N'ly flow at site but the persistent overcast had thickened sufficiently to produce some showers, so there was no flying.
