Wednesday 6th to Sunday 10th November 2024.

Wednesday 6th.  The persistent low cloud broke up to give a period of sunny intervals before reforming, the sunny period being long enough to allow 3 ATs off runway 20 into the light SSE'ly wind.  All three launches were in K21 JVZ, 2 for First Flight pupils and one for member Neil Amos, with flight times of 7-14 minutes dependent upon release heights which were affected by patches of low cloud.

Thursday 7th.  A non-flying  day due to the low overcast, as the cloudy high pressure continued to dominate the UK weather with the wind now a moderate S'ly.

Friday 8th.  Another non-flying day due to the low overcast, the only difference being a change in wind direction, the light to moderate SSE'ly slowly becoming a ESE'ly.

Saturday 9th.  The only activity on the airfield was the building of a bonfire in preparation for the club's annual celebration of the failed attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament.  Fortunately, the overcast lifted sufficiently to ensure that the fireworks did not disappear into the gloom as members and guests enjoyed the display and bonfire together with the accompanying meal and raffle, with proceeds from the latter going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Sunday 10th.  A continuation of the synoptic situation meant another non-flying day due to the low overcast, but with the prospect of a change to a drier airmass overnight into Monday.
