Wednesday 23rd.  A moderate SSE'ly blew all day with generally cloudy skies and flying limited to 2 extended circuits in the DG1000 off runway 20.

Thursday 24th.  A moderate S'ly wind and a lowish overcast limited flying to 4 flights in the Falke,

Friday 25th.  A slow moving cold front kept the site in cloud and light rain/drizzle for all the day as a light to moderate  ESE'ly blew, so there was no flying.

Saturday 26th.  A light SE'ly at the start of the day soon veered into the SSW and increased to light to moderate, the conditions providing wave soaring for  3 pilots  out of the 19 launches off runway 20, each of the wave soaring pilots having between 1:30 and 4:00. Fred Brown in his Ventus 2ct was another pilot to have over an hour of flying time, his 1:37 including a spell around 3,000' asl over Felixkirk in some weak wave that never came to anything and some hill soaring the main bowl at around 900' QFE.   Bob Calvert in his Discus 2ct, Martin Newbery in his Ventus 2ct and Julian Grerretsen in Astir DSU were the wave soaring pilots, with Bob and Martin both making use of  their engines to contact the wave in the Leeming area, Bob eventually climbing to 10,300' asl to the NW of Grassington after having climbs near Leyburn and Aysgarth and returning to site via Knaresborough and the Wetherby area.  Martin's best altitude was 10,000' asl, achieved near Leyburn, he remaining in the Leyburn/Aysgarth area for the majority of his 2:38 flight.  Julian contacted the wave some 4 km to the SSW of site and eventually climbed to 8,200' asl some 4-5 km to the SSE of site and achieving his Silver Height before landing after 1:30, so congratulations to Julian.  All but one of the other flights of the day were extended circuits of around 20 minutes, including those of the day's 4 First Flight pupils, the exception being  Andy Wilson who flew his Skylark 4 for 36 minutes.
