Wednesday 18th.  The anticyclone to the ESE continued to bring clear, sunny and warm weather to site, the wind remaining in the ESE/SE but decreasing to light.  The conditions produced some weak thermal activity and a convergence that was used by Bob Calvert in his Discus 2ct to have the only soaring flight of the day.  This lasted 3:30, during which time Bob visited Carlton Bank and Thirsk and climbed to 4,000' asl, before indulging in some local soaring.  Bob provided the following photo of the day's only local Cumulus cloud.

The rest of the day's flights were either in K21 KLW or Astir DPO, with 4 First Flight pupils flown, Clive Swain taking one of them for the second longest flight of the day, a more modest 24 minutes, helped by a weak thermal.  The Falke had 2 flights, the first including a number of touch and goes at site and the latter an O/R to Sutton on Forest with both encompassing field landing practices.
