Tuesday 9th.  A light to moderate SSW'ly blew under initially bright skies, these becoming cloudier as the day progressed and while this change didn't stop flying, it did restrict launch heights and correspondingly flight times. for the majority.   However, with some hill lift being available on the SSW'ly facing part of home bowl and that of the White Horse part of the S'ly ridge plus wave, 4 flights exceeded an hour with another one between 30 and 60 minutes.  In all,  20 ATs were flown off runway 20 mainly behind Eurofox HETY.  The first pilot to fly for more than an hour was Chris Handzlik in his DG300, with 1:22, Chris having a later flight of 37 minutes solo in the DG500. Chris's trace from his DG300 flight was not available so I do not know where he went or how high he climbed, but this was not a problem with the next flight of greater than an hour.  This was by Jesper Mjels who, flying the DG1000 solo, had 1:29 during which he contacted wave over Thirsk, climbed to around 8,400' asl and visited Ripon and Masham, returning by the same route. Photos from the flight are below:

The other 2 pilots to have more than an hour's soaring were Thomasz Rusin, who had 1:44 flying his untraceable DG300 and Steve Ogden who had just over an hour flying K21 JVZ solo, his trace indicating this being achieved by hill soaring but also included an foray out west to the East Coast Main line.  The day also included flights for 6 First Flight pupils while the Falke's single flight was towards the beginning of the flying day.
