Tuesday 6th to Thursday 8th January

Tuesday 6th.  Low cloud and a light SE'ly that slowly increased to moderate on a very cold day meant there was no flying.

Wednesday 7th.  The wind had become a moderate WNW'ly, and although it was sunny, the wind direction and strength meant there was no flying.

Thursday 8th.  A light SE'ly became a light NW'ly around midday, so 4 morning ATs off runway 20 were replaced by 9 afternoon winch launches off runway 02.   Thin high cover slowly thickened as Storm Goretti approached from the SW ensuring the absence of any lift, so flight times were a function of launch height, John Forrester's 2,500' tow solo in K21 KLW giving him the longest flight of the day, 18 minutes.  The 900-1,000' winch launches in K21s JVZ and KLW,  resulted in 3 minute flights for Neil Armstrong, Amelia Forrester and Konrad Kawalec in the company of James Shaw, Fred Brown and Andreas Rieder,
