Tuesday 1st to Wednesday 2nd July 2025

Tuesday 1st. A weak front brought in a medium level overcast with the wind being a light to moderate N'ly. Consequently, it was a day of circuits with 17 flown off runway 02 and the last flight landing at 2122 hrs due to the efforts of the Tuesday evening group. The 2 K21s accounted for all but one of the launches with a single flight in Astir DSU, but the lack of any lift meant that even those taking 2,000-2,500' tows only averaged 17 minutes flying time.
Wednesday 2nd. Low cloud and rain opened the day, the rain ceasing around 0900 hrs and the skies brightening sufficiently to allow flying from early afternoon, with 3 ATs off runway 24 as the clearance changed the wind from a light SE to a moderate to fresh WNW'ly. The three flights were by Andreas Rieder/Steven Carroll in K21 KLW, Austin Harland in Astir DSU and Bob Calvert in his Discus 2ct. Andreas/Steven and Austin had just over an hour each in weak local thermals with cloud base around 3,500' asl. Bob had just over 5 hours as he initially soared localy before visiting the Northallerton area, taking a cloud climb to 5,200' asl, and then the area around Masham, where some weak wave took him to his maximum altitude of 6,500' asl.
