Thursday 7th.  Another hazy, hot  anticyclonic day with variable winds that led to operations off runway 20, with later landings on runway 02 and then 06.  The day's 14 ATs included 6 for First Flight pupils and 2 solo flights, one in the Discus by Laurie Clarke and one in K21 KLW by Katherine Balkwill, but, like the majority of the day's flights, neither found any lift due to the low inversion.  Flight times of 16 to 25 minutes, dependent on launch height, were the order of the day with the exception being a flight in KLW by visitors Andy Balkwill/Philip Challans in the late afternoon  who found a weak thermal and gained from around 1,700' to 1,900' QFE to extend their flight time to 28 minutes.
