Thursday 18th.  A light to moderate/moderate SSE'ly slowly veered into the S under conditions of hazy sunshine, providing some slow wave climbs off high tows to peak altitudes of around 5,500' asl, with the main recipients being all 3 of the day's First Flight pupils.  Nigel Burke was P1 on all 3 flights, contacting the wave off tow at around 2.500' - 3,000' QFE and climbing 1,000' to 4,600' asl on the first flight,  2.500' to 6200' asl  on the second and 1,700' to 5,500' asl on the third.  The three flight times ranged from 28-33  minutes, the latter being the longest of the day, with all flown in K21 JVZ.  Their flight profiles were repeated by Andreas Rieder/Victoria Liu in K21 KLW, who climbed 1,500' to 5,300' asl in a flight time of 27 minutes.  Wave contacts and subsequent climbs were mainly around Wass to the ESE of site, but Nigel's first flight was via a contact and climb via a NW/SE beat 4 km to the SW of site.  The only other flight to exceed 20 minutes was flown by John Marsh/Ben Angrave in KLW, their 23 minutes including a weak, 300' thermal climb from 1,000' QFE.   The flying day concluded with Dave McKinney having 3 short flights in the Falke with James Shaw before Dave flew the Falke solo.
