Thursday 15th.  A moderate N/NNE'ly wind continued to bring in overcast skies which persisted all day so, with a cloud base that precluded ATing, launches off runway 02 were via the winch, with launch heights of around 900' QFE.  9 launches were flown, all in K21 JVZ, starting at just before 1400 hrs with most leading to flight times of less than 5 minutes.  However, James Shaw/Martin Newbery, on their second flight of the day found a weak thermal that allowed them to maintain their launch height for a while and land after 7 minutes. On the next flight, Bruce Grain/Polly Whitehead extended the day's longest flight time to 10 minutes by utilising a couple of thermals, the best of which allowed them to climb to 1100' QFE
