Sunday 9th to Thursday 13th March 2025.

Sunday 9th. A light to moderate NW/NNW'ly blew all day with thin high cover giving a bright rather than a sunny day. In the absence of any useable lift, none of the day's 6 ATs, initially off runway 20 and then off runway 02, included any soaring, so all the flight times were <30 minutes. The best of these was the 27 minutes by Adam Sayer in K21 JVZ with the first of the 3 First Flight pupils of the day, and that as a result of a 3,000' tow, a popular choice on the day. Chris O'Doyle test flew the recently returned Discus for 20 minutes, again off a 3,000', tow while Ian McFarlane/Sanjay Nath flew an O/R to east of Malton in the Falke.
Monday 10th to Thursday 13th. A developing low pressure to the east of the UK and high pressure over the mid Atlantic resulted in the establishment of a cold N'ly flow over the UK, this bringing in patches of low cloud and showers, some heavy with hail and sleet/snow over high ground at times. The wind was generally moderate but moderate to fresh at times, with the conditions over the reported period never conducive to flying.
