Sunday 28th to Tuesday 30th January 2024

Sunday 28th.  A light to moderate S'ly blew all day, the skies gradually clouding over as a depression approached from the west.  The day's 3 ATs off runway 20 were all extended circuit flights, ranging in duration from 12 to 18 minutes, the latter, the last of the day, being flown by Clive Swain in K21 JVZ with the second of the day's First Flight pupils .  The day's other two flights were flown by Fred Brown, first with James Prosser and then with the day's other First Flight pupil, this time in K21 KLW.

Monday 29th.  An Atlantic depression made very slow progress eastwards over the North of England, the moderate, initially NW'ly wind eventually becoming N'ly and decreasing to light to moderate.  However, it was the low cloud and day long rain that prevented any flying.

Tuesday 30th.  A moderate and cloudy NW'ly airstream opened the day, the wind decreasing to light as it backed into the west and the cloud disappearing to give a sunny afternoon.  However, the main reason for it being an unflyable day was the waterlogged state of the airfield.
