Sunday 13th to Friday 17th January 2025

Sunday 13th to Wednesday 15th.  With a change to a mild airmass from between the SE to the SW, the snow slowly melted and was gone by Tuesday, leaving a very wet airfield that prevented flying on Wednesday.

Thursday 16th.  A light to moderate SE'ly blew, the skies were clear and sunny and flying took place off runway 20, with19 ATs completed.  With no significant lift to utilise, there were  no flights of over 30 minutes and those that exceeded 20 minutes were mainly  the result of 2,500' to 3,000' tows, including the 23 minutes for the only First Flight pupil of the day.  The other >20 minute flights were mainly in the K21's with Chris O'Boyle /Richard Harding having 24 minutes in KLW while Neil Paveley had 23 minutes in Astir DPO, both having 3,000' tows.  The club welcomed visitors from the Cambridge GC who had had to delay their arrival due to the snow bound nature of the airfield but were rewarded on the day of their arrival by a nice sunset.

Friday 17th.  The blue skies had disappeared, replaced by a low overcast  brought in a continuing light to moderate SSE'ly.  Consequently, flying was restricted to a single flight in the Falke, Bruce Grain and Clive Swain having 1:20 but not leaving a Flarm trace.
