Saturday 21st. A thundery afternoon was forecast, as a cold front made eastwards progress across the UK. In the event it clouded in as a moderate SSE'ly blew, but the rain that fell in the afternoon was very light, although the day turned quite gloomy and threatening. The day's flying commenced at 1030 hrs when Sarah Stubbs took the first of the day's 5 First Flight pupils for a 26 minute flight in K21 JVZ, and that and Bob Calvert's 26 minutes in K21 KLW, when he took another of the day's First Flight pupils on an O/R to Ampleforth, were the longest flights of the day. Minimal thermal activity only served to slightly slow descents, while Logan Briggs took the opportunity to practice circuits from two 1,100' QFE tows with Chris Collingham in the DG500 and Chris and Dexter Lambgon? took the last flight of the day in JVZ, landing at 1255 hrs.
