Saturday 12th.  Another hot and generally blue day, a shift in the position of the anticyclone resulting in the wind being a light ESE'ly before slowly increasing to moderate from the E.  13 ATs were flown off runway 20, with 20, 02 and 06 being used for landings.  2 private owners, 6 First Flight pupils, 2 flights by James Horton in Astir DSU and 3 flights for YGC members in club 2 seaters comprised the day's flying. 1 flight of just over an  hour and 3 in the range of 30-59 minutes were recorded, but  2 of the latter were the result of high tows with no subsequent lift found,   The 1:01 flight by Bob Johnson/Jim Pereira in the DG1000 started with a  tow to the north,  which enabled them to get to a convergence running SW/NE some 8 km E of Northallerton, this having been soared earlier by Kelly Teagle in her LS8t-18 for 49 minutes, Kelly having used her engine to get there.  The convergence provided average peak climbs of  up to 2,5 kts and and maximum altitudes of  4,600' - 4,800' asl and was the only source of lift utilised on the day.
