Saturday 11th. A shift in the position of the high pressure led to the wind becoming a light to moderate E'ly and the temperature dropping to a more comfortable 26,6C. The onset of a wind off the N Sea meant a marked reduction in useable thermal activity, with the result that the day's 24 ATs off either runway 02 or 06 produced only 6 flights of 30 minutes or more, and none over an hour. All but one of these flights were in the range 30-33 minutes with one from a high tow. The longest flight of the day was by Philip Morgan/James Minc in their Janus C, their 47 minutes resulting from some weak thermal activity on what was a blue day.
Sunday 12th. Another blue and wam day as the moderate wind continued to blow from the ENE with operations off runway 02 and some landings on 06. Thermal activity was limited,, with only 2 flights of the 22 ATs flown resulting in durations of over 30 minutes, with one of these over an hour. Both these flights were by private owners, with Hoskins/Minx having 45 minute in their Janus C, and Fred Brown having 1:10 in his Ventus ct, both flights using local thermals. A number of flights were clustered in the 25-29 minutes band, several of which were for some of the day's 5 First Flight pupils.
