Monday 31st March to Tuesday 1st April 2025

Monday 31st.  High pressure had become established over the UK, the light SSE'ly wind being accompanied by a mid level overcast that precluded any soaring opportunities.  The resultant 16 ATs off runway 20 did not produce any flights of over 30 minutes, the longest two both involving Andrew Bedford.  The first was with James Shaw, their 22 minutes in K21 JVZ the result of a 3,000' tow and the second, with Dave McKinney also in JVZ, lasting 20 minutes again off a 3,100' tow.  The only other notable event on the day was the 02 landing of Bruce Grain/James Shaw, all other landings being on 20 while Paul Whitehead/Ian McFarlane had a trip out in Eurofox OF and John Carter new summer instructor Andreas Rieder had a flight in the Falke.

Tuesday 1st April.  The high pressure had shifted position and now produced a moderate ESE'ly at site under clear blue skies, giving cross wind take off and landing conditions on runway 20.  It was a 2 seater only day with K21s JVZ and KLW sharing the 13 ATs.  A lack of any significant thermal activity meant there were no flights of over 30 minutes, the longest being the 27 minutes flown by James Shaw/Mark Symington in KLW, the time being the result of a 3,000' tow and a weak thermal in which they were able to climb 200'.    Three other flights managed times of 20 minutes or more, James Shaw/Steve Kirk, 24 minutes, John Forrester and one of the two First Flight pupils on the day and Andreas Rieder/Steve Kellerher both with  21 minutes with all 3 flights the result of 3,000' tows.
