Monday 29th.  With low pressure centres to the north of Scotland and  over N Ireland, the wind had switched by 180 degrees and now was a warmer, moderate to moderate to fresh S'ly which provided some limited lift from the White Horse and southern ridges.  6 ATs were flown from runway 20, flying coming to a halt by mid afternoon due to the lowering of base of the thickening cloud.  Dave McKinney/Andrew Bedford in K21 KLW had the longest flight of the day, 59 minutes, taking a high tow and flying east to Ampleforth before returning to soar the White Horse and Wass ridges.  3 other flights exceeded 30 minutes, 2 of which were for 2 of the day's 3 First Flight pupils, while the remaining > 30 minute flight saw Paul/Polly Whitehead have 37 minutes in KLW, slowly descending from their release height to soar the White Horse ridge at around 1,000' QFE.

Tuesday 30th.   A moderate to moderate to fresh and turbulent SSE'ly blew all day, providing some strong thermals during the afternoon.  15 ATs were flown off runway 20, 3 of which were for First Flight pupils. with club pilots having 7 flights of over 30 minutes with 3 of these over an hour.  Clive Swain/Tony Kirby were the first of the > an hour pilots with 1:05 in K21 KLW, taking off late morning and climbing to a max altitude of 3,300' asl.  Later, in the afternoon, off the penultimate launch of the day,  Clive and Neil Amos in KLW had 1:09 during which they climbed to 5,500' asl, the best of the day, being followed by Guy Hartland/Matt Roberts in K21 JVZ who climbed to 5,100' asl in their flight of 1:11.  Thermal conditions were much weaker earlier in the day with visiting instructor Andrew Watson & Steve Morgan having 34 minutes in JVZ off the first flight of the day, steadily losing out in weak thermal.
