Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd.  A flabby low pressure made slow progress NNE'ly from off the west coast of Portugal into the southern North Sea, initially feeding in low cloud on a gusty ESE'ly with showers on Saturday and more general rain on Sunday followed by heavy showers before clearer skies arrived, the wind backing into the N.  The combination of low cloud, gusty winds and rain meant there was no flying on any of these days.

Monday 24th.    Initially cloudy skies brightened by late morning with the first of 17 ATs taking off from runway 20 around 1100 hrs, this being flown by Chris O'Doyle/Logan Briggs in K21 KLW.  Club flying was shared between KLW, its sister ship JVZ and Astir DSU, with the longest flight being that of 28 minutes by Ian McFarlane/Sam Batchelor in  JVZ.  The conditions tempted 5 pilots to rig, resulting in flight durations of 29 minutes to over 2 hours.  Bob Calvert in his Discus 2ct and Dean Crosby in his LS10t both had flights of over 2 hours, while Martin Newbery in his Ventus ct and Steve Thompson in his Ventus bt had 48 and 43 minutes respectively.  Neil Paveley in his Nimbus 2 was the 29 minute pilot, but I was unable to access their Flarm traces so have no other information regarding the day's flights.  Powered aircraft movements saw Ian McFarlane have 2 flights in Eurofox G-CIOF, one with Paul Whitehead and one solo, while Bruce Grain/Andy Boule had a 50 minute flight in the Falke.
