Friday 18th.  A light to moderate S'ly slowly veered into the WSW, the skies being generally cloudy with spells of sunny intervals.  Some limited thermal soaring was possible, with two visiting private owners having the day's 2 flights of over an hour, with 2 other flights having between 30 & 60 minutes off the 13 ATs off runway 20. Graham Holloway in his DG299-17 and Adrian Tills in his Libelle were the > an hour pilots, with Graham having 1:35 and Adrian 1:12.  Adrian stayed local with a best climb of 2.4 kts and a best altitude of 3,800' asl, while Graham's flight was not registered on Flarm but is assumed to have also been local.  The other > 30 minute flights were by Andreas Rieder/John Dore in the DG500, 47 minutes, and Neil Armstrong with 37 minutes in Astir DSU.  The club 2 seaters were busy with the day's 6 First Flight pupils, as was the Falke, the first of whose 4 flights was an O/R to Sutton on Forest with James Shaw/Neil Armstrong on board, a flight that also involved some field landing practice.
