Wednesday 6th to Saturday 9th May

Wednesday 6th.  A reasonable day's soaring with 14 of the day's 18 ATs giving rise to flights of over 30 minutes with 4 of these over an hour.  The > an hour pilots were Neil Paverley with 3:57 in his Nimbus  2, Fred Brown in his Ventus 2ct, 2:03, Rob Bailey in his ASG29t , 3:40 and one of the pilots who flew the Junior, 1:22.  I have no information on three of these flights but Rob posted on the Ladder, a 265 km task with TPs at Carlton Bank and Rydale Bridge in the Lakes starting and finishing at Sutton Start S.  Rob reported good conditions outbound but spreadout over the Howgills and on the way back until the Vale of York where he had his best climb of the day.

Thursday 7th.  A cloudy day with a light to moderate S'ly blowing did not provide much in the way of usable lift, with the longest of the day's flights being 25 minutes by the pilot of  LPE, a Discus bt, of a  2,600' tow from the day's 24 ATs.

Friday 8th. Another circuit day, with the longest flight of the 19 ATs being the 29 minutes by the pilots of K21 KLW off a 2,000' tow.

Saturday 9th.  A cold front slowly travelling S'wards brought a day of low cloud and rain so there was no flying,
