Wednesday 13th.  A light to moderate SSE'ly was accompanied by a hot (31.6C) day locally, but the high temperatures didn't do much for soaring flight, with only 4 of the day's 20 ATs off runway 20 leading to flights over 30 minutes, of which one was over an hour.  Four First Flight pupils were flown.  Visitor Gareth Francis in his LS6 was the > an hour pilot with 2:04, during which he flew to Tontine and Linton on Ouse, climbing to 4,900' asl in blue conditions, with a best average climb of 2,5 kts.  The only other private owner to fly, Andrew Wilmott in his ASW19, had 44 minutes locally, with the other  > 30 minute flights both by Chris O'Doyle, the first of 37 minutes in the DG500 with Bernie Pompilis and the second of 35 minutes with David Sculfor in K21 KLW off the last flight of the day. Chris/Pompilis' flight included a thermal climb to 4,100' asl while his second with David saw them maintain 3,200'-3,500'  asl in a weak thermal.
