Thursday 2nd. A light NNE'ly blew all day as the high pressure showed signs of weakening, but still fed in overcast skies which, although not preventing flying, limited tow heights to typically 1300' QFE, although 2 of the 8 flown on the day did get to 1700' and 1900' QFE. Due to the low cloud base, the day's 3 First Flight pupils each had two flights each from their 1300' release height with Dave Campbell, while Clive Swain/Paul Frost had the two other flights with the higher releases, all the day's flights being in K21 JVZ. Clive/Paul's second flight, with a release height of 1900' QFE, provided the longest flight of the day, 16 minutes, with no discernible lift available. The only other flying activity was provided by a visiting Falke from Pocklington which flew back there later in the day.
