The Yorkshire Gliding Club continues to be temporarily closed to members of the public. Our facilities are gradually re-opening and we intend to start flying with you again in August 2020.
Since early July, restrictions on two-seat glider flying with mixed households have been relaxed and as such, we intend to once again fly with members of the public who hold flight vouchers from 1st August 2020. This gives us time to refine our operation with our members to ensure that we can conduct introductory flights safely whilst respecting social distancing.
Clearly, the way in which we host members of the public and their families/friends will need to be different to how it was previously due to our facilities not yet being fully reopened. We will contact you prior to your flight, or speak to you when you book - to discuss this.
If you have a voucher for a flight, you will be able to call or email the office to book a date. Note that our target date for resuming public flying may change. Our office will presently only be fully manned two days per week on Mondays and Fridays. If your voucher has expired and could not be used due to the pandemic, please contact us. We will always do our best to honour all reasonable requests and do not intend for anyone to miss out on their flight due to circumstances beyond anyone's control.
We appreciate your support. If you do not have a flight voucher and would like to experience our unique method of aviation - you can purchase one online.
