Tuesday 21st.   A high overcast and a low inversion combined to severely limit any soaring opportunities, consequently, the day's 31 ATs off runway 24 into a light wind generated a longest flight of only 30 minutes, this by Ron Beezer and guest M Beezer in K21 KLW.  Flights over 20 minutes were also hard to come by with only 4 recorded, the best of 25 minutes being flown by Fred Brown and Keith Fordham Brown in K21 KLW and David Watson and Albert Newbery in the DG1000.  10 solo flights in the Astir, DG303 and both K21s saw a best time of 21 minutes by Andrew Bedford in the DG303.  4 First Flight pupils were flown and the Falke had 2 flights, one of which saw the pilots take a trip to the seaside, visiting Whitby and Scarborough.

This blog describes a snippet of life at the Yorkshire Gliding Club. Why not take a flight and try it yourself, or we can teach you to fly as a full club member.
