Thursday 10th.  A generally cloudy air mass, borne on a moderate SW'ly flow persisted most of the day, the cloud clearing in the evening.  16 ATs were flown off runway 24 with a mixture of thermal and hill soaring available, the latter mainly limited to the into wind section of the main bowl.  Only one private owner rigged and flew, this being Martyn Johnson in his DG600, being one of the 4 flights to exceed an hour, in Martyn's case this amounting to 2:31.  All soaring was local, with Martyn's brief visit to Cowesby Bowl being the most anyone traveled from site.  Others to have an hour or more were Andy Evans, 1:21 solo in the DG500, John Carter/Mike O'Neil, 1:04 in the DG1000 and Bruce Grain/Rod Brister, exactly an hour in K21 KLW.  2 more flights soared for 30-59 minutes, as 5 First Flight pupils experienced the thrill of gliding for the first time.
