Friday 25th to Saturday 26th June 2021

Friday 25th.  A day of low cloud with spells of light rain and drizzle meant there was no flying.

Saturday 26th.  Another cloudy start delayed the start of flying until the early afternoon as a light ENE'ly blew.  Skies gradually cleared but not sufficiently or early enough to provide any soaring opportunities so none of the day's 20 ATs off either runway 02 or 06 managed to exceed 30 minutes flying time.  The closest was achieved by Chris Collingham and Julian Pratt with 29 minutes in K21 KLW, while Chris, this time with Phillipa Wood had 28 minutes in the same glider and Alan Rands and Sandy LLoyd had the same time in the DG1000.

This blog describes a snippet of life at the Yorkshire Gliding Club. Why not take a flight and try it yourself, or we can teach you to fly as a full club member.
