Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st March 2021

Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st.   The large area of high pressure remained anchored to the west of the UK with the winds at site being light to moderate and  predominately from  the northern quarter on Thursday and Friday before switching to the western quarter on Saturday and Sunday.  Thus Thursday and Friday had a low and persistent overcast as cloud rolled in from the North Sea, while Saturday and Sunday had much more broken cloud and long periods of sunshine.  No flying was undertaken over the above period, the low overcast being the reason on Thursday and Friday and the current restrictions on flying being the reason on Saturday and Sunday, with the instructor cadre up to date with recency following the flying over the past couple of weeks.

This blog describes a snippet of life at the Yorkshire Gliding Club. Why not take a flight and try it yourself, or we can teach you to fly as a full club member.
