In addition to the two early-morning motorglider sorties to Pocklington and back (to ferry a tug pilot for the two-seater competition) there were  sixteen winch launches into the gusty and wavy conditions, and one self-launch.

Conditions were not suitable for tasking the Northerns competitors, although two of the competitors flew their gliders for 6:11 and 4:32 and obviously enjoyed the scenery, but I have no details about where they visited.

Club operations saw all four two-seaters in use, accompanied by two of the single seaters, the Discus and the Astir.

The day ended with the Northerns Dinner and Party.

This blog describes a snippet of life at the Yorkshire Gliding Club. Why not take a flight and try it yourself, or we can teach you to fly as a full club member.
