Saturday 29th.  A light SE'ly strengthened over the course of the day, becoming moderate by its end.  Promises of cloud break up to give sunny intervals during the afternoon, while encouraging a number of private owners to rig, proved to be fake news, the stratocumulus overcast persisting all day.  However, cloud base was high enough to allow 19 ATs to be flown off runway 20, 7 of which were for a group of Scouts plus 2 for First Flight pupils.  The day's predominately quiescent conditions were reflected in flight times with only 1 flight exceeding 30 minutes, this occurring towards the end of the day as the wind speed picked up.  Thus Polly Whitehead and Jim McLean had a very creditable 42 minutes in K21 KLW, while Toby Wilson almost joined this elite twosome with 29 minutes in Astir DPO having taken off just before Polly and Jim.  After the end of flying members congregated in the clubhouse for the club's AGM, President Nick Gaunt opening the proceedings with some encouraging and congratulatory words for the membership before Chairman Chris Thirkell proceeded through the agenda and outlining a successful year for the club in terms of membership and finance with most of the question and answer session revolving around lavatorial matters.   Retiring Board members, Ken Arkley, John Carter and Andy Wright were thanked for their contributions, with David Watson, Tom Dale and Steve Wilson being their replacements.
