About

The Yorkshire Gliding Club is based on top of Sutton Bank in beautiful North Yorkshire. We fly 7 days a week, 364 days a year and have a superb fleet of gliders. Sutton Bank is a unique gliding site, partly because it is just inside the North York Moors national park, at the top of a large escarpment (an Iron-age fort) and the ridge of hills known as the Hambleton Hills. The nearby Pennines give us mountain wave, often up to 19,500 feet (and higher in previous years when regulations allowed).

We have four two-seat gliders for training and trial lessons, and several single-seat gliders for more advanced pilots, including a Discus and a DG303.

Come and join us for a flight - it’s one of the best places in the country to fly gliders!
