Terms and Conditions of Booking

In order for this system to work, it is necessary to have a number of Terms and Conditions. These exist to ensure that the system is fair and even-handed. If you don't agree to any of these Terms, please don't use the system.

Please remember that this system is in place to help you, and to guarantee you time in the glider, when you book it. This should make it easier for you to progress towards solo, or if you're already solo, to achieve whatever goal you have in mind.
Your instructor will be happy to discuss your requirements with you.

General
  • You may only book one session per day.
  • Sessions are defined as:-
    • A.M. 9.45am - 12.45pm
    • P.M. 1.45pm - 4.45pm
  • Bookings must be made at least two days in advance.
  • Bookings cannot be made more than two months in advance.
  • Up to two people may book each glider per session. The two people will be required to share the glider and to help with the launching, retrieving and general care of the glider during the session.
  • Club members should avoid making bookings which clash with their duty days. Please see the Duty Rota for your duty dates.
  • Only full-flying, life, spouse and student members may use the on-line booking system. Other members may make bookings by phoning the Office on 01845 597237.
  • Visitors from other clubs and other non-members may book gliders, but they must do so by phoning the Office on 01845 597237.
  • The YGC reserves the right to cancel bookings at any time and without notice, but will not do so without reasonable justification.

Members responsibilities
  • A.M. Sessions
    • If you book an A.M. session, please be at the club by 9am to help prepare 'your' aircraft (and others) for flight.
  • P.M. Sessions
    • If you book a P.M. session, please make sure that you stay to help put 'your' aircraft (and others) away.
  • If you can't arrive by 9am, or stay to help put the aircraft away, please speak to the Duty Instructor who will do his or her best to help.

Finally please remember, gliding is a team activity. Without the support of each other, none of us can fly!
